Product Enquiries
Where are your products designed and manufactured?
Around 90% of our furniture and 60% of our accessories are designed in-house. These are then supplemented by a few select products from our suppliers.
The majority of our indoor and outdoor furniture is made by a handful of trusted manufacturers in Indonesia, many of whom we have dealt with for upwards of 15 years.
We also buy some furniture items such as our Tenby & Rollo ranges from China.
Our fully upholstered furniture is made here in the uk by our in-house upholstery team.
The frames on our fully upholstered items are from a local specialist framemaker.
For smaller items such as footstools and headboards, we make the frames in house.
On items such as our Shoreditch armchair, where there is exposed timber; the frames are made in Indonesia and then upholstered here by our team.
We also make all of the outdoor pads inhouse.
Our soft furnishings, such as rugs and throws are from India.
We buy our glassware, cutlery and porcelain from the EU.
Most of our upholstery fabric and outdoor fabric is also bought from the EU.
Are your products suitable for commercial use?
Yes, the vast majority of our products are made to withstand the rigours of the commercial use:
We currently supply a lot of outdoor furniture to the hospitality market.
We can upholster to crib 5 FR regulations.
We regularly supply our interior furniture to commercial situations such as boutique hotels, restaurants and holiday accommodation.
Do you offer any guarantees?
All of our products carry a standard 1 year guarantee against manufacturing faults. In truth though, we have very few problems.
In addition to this, our fully upholstered sofas and armchairs all have a 10 year guarantee on the frame.
Are the products only available in the fabrics listed?
No, you are welcome to supply your own fabrics providing they are suitable for upholstery. Ideally we would like the fabrics to be FR treated or inherently FR, however we can provide an FR treatment on fabrics that are made of at least 75% natural fibres.
We can also supply our upholstered items in any suitable upholstery fabric from our friends at Moon.
Environment
Where is your hardwood sourced from?
Our hardwood i.e. teak and meh (trembesi) wood are all sourced from sustainable forests in Indonesia. Teak from these forests often has white specks in the grain, this is due to the chalk in the soil in sustainable forests and should not be seen as a defect.
Any wooden items imported from Indonesia need to comply with strict FLEGT, or EUTR, laws, which ensure the legality of the wood. This is something that Indonesia has voluntarily entered into.
Our oak items such as the Tenby range and Rib chair are made from Oak, sourced from the EU.
What is your policy on recycling, usage of natural resources etc?
As we are a SME, we have always had a focus on minimising waste and resources. Our products are made for the long term, so they are not throw-away products.
However we are also constantly looking at new methodology in our products to reduce the overall footprint.
We have recently introduced upholstery fabrics made from recycled plastics and redesigned several product lines to make them more freight efficient and longer lasting.
The vast majority of our wooden furniture is produced in Indonesia and is fully compliant with FLEGT and EUTR regulations.
Our waste is recycled and where we can we reuse packaging and wrapping materials.
