Product Guides

A more detailed guide into more particular parts of our product range.

Ready made upholstered items – These are products which we import already upholstered, such as Lauren dining chairs, divan bases & some of our headboards. These items are only available in the listed options.

Imported items for upholstery – Products which are made for us overseas, which we then upholster here. These are products such as our Shoreditch Armchairs & Hampstead Dining Chairs. We can upholster these products in any of our fabrics or any suitable C.O.M..

Locally made upholstery frames – These are our sofa and armchair frames which are made for us locally. These frames are made in hardwood (generally beech) and have an extremely strong construction using dowelled, screwed and glued joints. These frames carry a 10 year guarantee on the frame and are used on our fully upholstered products such as our Selsey, Lewes & Brighton ranges. We can upholster these products in any of our fabrics or any suitable C.O.M.

Inhouse made upholstery frames – These are frames made by our inhouse team using solid wood and timber sheet materials. These are generally for items such as our upholstered cubes, Lyon stools, Marylebone upholstered tables and Shoreditch backless benches. All of these items are available in any of our upholstery fabrics or any suitable C.O.M..

As well as this, because these frames are made inhouse, there is the possibility of producing custom sized items, just contact the office for details. Please be aware however, with customised items this will have an affect on the price and the lead time.

Our Upholstery Fabric Range

We have several ranges of upholstery fabrics that can be split into two price bands;

Band A & Band B.

Each fabric range has its own characteristic and composition, whilst we strive to give a good visual representation of the fabrics, should you require swatches, please request these from sales@prhome.co.uk

As well as our own fabrics, we also have access to the fantastic range of wools at moons.co.uk

We can also work with any suitable C.O.M. (customers own material) providing it has been FR’d, or is made from at least 75% natural fibres

Natural – Totally untreated hardwood.

Raw – Our most subtle treatment, adds a protective, breathable layer to the wood without altering the colour too much.

Protective Oil – Enriches the colour of the timber whilst providing a strong barrier against marking and staining.

Grey Stained Protective Oil – As above but adds a greying finish to the timber giving it a walnut like colouring.

Whitewash – A whitewash treatment which is then finished with a protective top layer.

Earth Stain – A very dark brown stain.

Unfortunately our furniture in Oiled Oak is not suitable for these additional finishes.

Outdoor teak when exposed to the elements, will lose its original colour and turn an attractive silvery grey colour. This is normal with outdoor teak and for many people, it is the desired finish. Should you want to retain the original colour of the wood, products such as teak oil or a UV protection oil can help with this, however this will usually require an annual treatment depending on the product.

If you opt to leave the outdoor teak untreated, then your furniture will require an annual clean using a jet wash or with a cloth and soapy water.

For furniture with a synthetic weave, a year in the elements will leave a build up of dirt or algae. Again an annual clean will be necessary with either a jet wash or with a cloth and soapy water.
